An American girl makes wave in Middle East

Jennifer Grout, a young girl from Cambridge, Massachusetts has been creating some storm due to her appearance in "Arabs got talents" television show. She doesn't speak a word of arabic but she certainly got herself some attention by singing classical arab songs, and she did it certainly well.

Currently residing in Marrakesh, Morocco, she always had passion for classical arabic music according to her mother. Now, after a year in Morocco chasing her dreams, she now has found centre stage. One of the judge of the TV show praised her for her performance, describing it was "amazing" as classical arabic song is hard even for fluent native arab speakers.

During the finale of the TV show, she narrowly missed out the top spot, placing third. However, this doesn't take away much of her achievement to as one of the judge said " It is amazing how an American girl who doesn't speak a word of arabic mastered the art of classical arab song while most of the arab world currently try to imitate the West"
